It is not news to you that burning fat can be difficult. It requires a plan, discipline and the ability to stick with the program. Often people embark on a fat loss program only to end up stopping in the middle of it because they are frustrated with their results. So how do you burn fat? This is the troubling question that many people are asking.

The simple truth is that anything worth having takes time and fat loss is no different. It took you many years to pile on the fat; it is not going to come off overnight.

But there are some things that you can do that will help you lose the greatest amount of fat….

1) The key word is intensity

There is a secret that people who want to learn how to burn fat faster should know—intensity. How oten have you seen people stuck on a treadmill for an hour or more every day but they never seem to lose weight?

Here is another secret for you. It is not how much time you spend in the gym that matters; it is what you do with your time when you are in the gym.

Irrespective of whether you do weight training or cardio, your exercise routine has to be high intensity. When your workouts are super-intense, you’re kick starting your body’s fat burning mechanism.

2) Track all of your calories.

Counting calories is done for good reason. However, many people are not even knowledgeable of what a calorie is. You need to understand the impact that calories have on your body if you really want to know how to burn fat faster.

Every food that you eat contains energy to varying degreses. Calories are ways of meauring that energy. Carbohydrates and proteins contain four calories per gram while fat packs a little heavier punch. Each fat gram contains 9 calories.

You need a certain amount of calories each day to maintain your body as it is today. You put on weight when you give your body more calories than it needs. You lose weight when you give your body fewer calories than it needs.

The first step then is to determine how many calories that you body needs. The internet is full of different sites that can show you how to calculate your caloric need. Do a search and find out what yours is.

Once you know you caloric need, losing weight is quite simple in theory. What you are going to do is only take in 80% to 85% of what your maintenance level is.

3) Eat often.

You will get best results if you eat 5 – 7 meals per day. You are probably eating 3 right now. Increase the number of meals and decrease the amount that you eat at each meal.

When your body is not fed for long periods of time (as is the case when you eat only three meals), it thinks that it is being starved and tends to store more fat when you eat next so as to protect itself from starving in the future.

You may know that you’re not facing starvation, but try telling your body that. So, to stop your body from storing extra fat, you should eat every three hours and not give your body reason to store extra fat.

Many of us have experienced the frustration of regaining weight that we had previously lost. Are you looking for ways to get rid of excess fat and keep it off for good? Listed below are some simple ways to achieve your goals, but they aren’t secret formulas. You don’t have to live with that excess fat that you don’t want, you can get rid of it.

Keep in mind that in order to keep fat off for good you will need to incorporate a lifestyle change. Not a diet, a lifestyle change. Are you ready to make a lifestyle change? You have got to pay attention to what you eat. Too many people fail to realize the connection between what they eat and how they look. As the saying goes, “You are what you eat.” If you ever hope to get rid of excess fat then you need to determine to eat a nutritional diet. You must make sure that you body gets the right amount of calories to function but also that it get those calories in the right way. Your body must get proper nutrients.

You must figure out the amount of calories that your individual body needs in order to get rid of excess fat. Opposite of what most people think, you should not cut your calories drastically in order to get rid of excess fat. Your body will hold onto every calorie that you eat if you cut your calories too drastically because your body has a survival mode. Never cut your calorie intake by more than 20%. Any more would be a mistake. You will want to cut out some calories, but not so many that your body is starving and will hold onto everything that you eat.

How many times a day are you eating? Some people think it is wise to cut out meals. Nothing could be further from the truth. Your body needs 5-7 small meals spread out throughout the day for your body to lose excess fat for good. The frequent meals will keep your metabolism running high and will help balance your blood sugar and insulin levels.

In order to rebuild your body properly you must give your body what it craves: proper macronutrients. The correct proportion would be something similar to this: 20% fat, 35% protein and 45% carbohydrates. Each and every meal that you eat should contain the following: lean protein, healthy fats, and high fiber carbohydrates. Even after you have reached your goals you should continue to follow this same program. This is not a temporary fix. It needs to be a lifestyle change. This new way of eating is not meant to be done only for a certain period of time. You must develop it into a lifelong habit. Your new healthy lifestyle should be permanent. Incorporate these changes into your routine and you should be able to get rid of much of the excess fat that you are carrying around right now.

Here is some great information from my friend Jon Benson.

Believe it or not you can get lean by eating fast food.

I know, it sounds crazy… but in a few weeks I’m going to prove it to the world with the release of my newest mini e-book “Fast Food Fitness: How I Dropped 40lbs Eating Fast Food Every Day.”

Do you think I’m joking?  I’m not.

Of course there’s a WAY to eat fast food and drop the pounds. You can’t just eat like everyone else does. That’s common sense.

And believe me, there are more healthy ways to drop the pounds than eating fast food… for sure.

But the way I figure it: Would you rather be healthIER and lean or UNhealthy and overfat?

Silly question… so consider “Fast Food Fitness” a path to the lesser of two evils… and one that actually got me to 10% bodyfat (that’s pretty lean!) a few years ago.

Here’s how it started:

I simply hate to cook!  I have since solved that problem… I hired a part-time chef (it’s cheaper than it sounds)… but until two years ago I was eating out every single meal… I mean EVERY MEAL.

Most of the time… not all of the time, but most of the time… these meals were fast food joints like burger joints and even fried chicken places.

But I had to keep my physique, so … what to do?

Well… you’ll have to wait. At least a few weeks.

If you want the book for half-price, you have to own a copy of “Every Other Day Dietplan”… everyone who owns a copy before “Fast Food Fitness” hits the Internet will get half-off.

So go here if you don’t have EODD yet …

Here’s 3 of my top 25 fast-food diet-tips… just these 3 will take you 1/3 of the way there…

First, use my Half-n-Half Principle. Order whatever you are going to order and then have the person behind the counter cut the order exactly in HALF.

Half to go… half to eat there.

Eat half now…. then the other half 3-4 hours later. Believe it or not you will store less bodyfat and even increase your metabolism eating like this.

Simple trick… give it a shot.

Second, ditch all the starch. That means buns, bread and anything made of flour. BUT here’s the “still tastes good” trick I use. I keep ONE of the pieces of bread from, say, my hamburger. Then I “pick” at it while I enjoy the meat and either a small diet soda or tea. Eat no more than 5 “picks” at the bread… about half a slice. You still get the exact taste of a burger with none of the stuff that makes most people over-fat.

Third, for you chicken lovers, split your order between fried and baked chicken. KFC has excellent baked chicken… try it. Then strip most of the skin off the fried chicken. Not all… most.

You still get the taste, but with far fewer bad food-stuffs and calories…. make sense?

Enjoy the tips… but remember, the healthiest (and tastiest) way to eat is still my Every Other Day Dietplan, which works in your favorite foods each week….
